You need to register for the competition in advance by email only (
info@crystalnailsireland.com) with your name and phone number (registration by phone will not be accepted). The EUR 40 registration fee must be paid in advance by the latest 5th of May 2010* (places are limited). 50% of the registration fee (EUR 20) can be spent on Crystal Nails products during the day.

Contestants must provide their own model, lighting, towels, UV lamp, brush and all other materials. (Primer, glue, tips, nail wipe, liquid, cleanser, oil) Gels / acrylic powders must be only Crystal Nails brand. These can be bought / ordered in advance.

Contestants must work with only Crystal Nails materials (gels, acrylic powders). If you use any other gels or acrylic powders during the competition you will be disqualified.

All mobile phones must be switched off. Contestants will be disqualified for phones ringing / answered during the competition.

No smoking, drinking or eating is allowed during the competition or in the competition area. Soft drinks are acceptable.

All models must wear black T-shirt during the competition.

Once the competition begins contestants and / or models may not leave the competition area without permission.

When the competition ends contestants must immediately stop working and move away from their work stations as directed. Contestants are not permitted to touch their models until after they have been judged.

Models are not allowed to wear any jewelry on their hands, wrists or arms including watches.

Models are not permitted to move the judge’s curtain during the judging process.

Only the first 3 places will be announced. (if you are not in the first 3 your scores will be available the following day by request only)

The competition starts at 1pm. If you are late you will not be allowed to enter the competition area. It is the contestant’s responsibility to leave sufficient time for preparation of your desk (lighting, etc.) before the competition starts.

Contestants’ number will be allocated on the day and your number labels will be given to you at the competition registration desk.

If any contestants or models have any serious medical condition or serious special needs, please inform the competition staff at the registration desk.
*The EUR 40 registration fee is non refundable in case of any cancellation / disqualification.
GEL / ACRYLIC TIP OVERLAY COMPETITION RULES

Contestants are given 2.5 hours to complete full set of French square tip gel / acrylic nails on one hand and clear square tip gel with lacquer / nail vanish finish on the other hand. Crystal Nails will provide lacquers / nail vanish for the competitors, own lacquers / nail vanish are not allowed.

Only natural or clear tips can be used, no white tips allowed in the competition.

Your model must not wear any polish (including base coat) before the competition starts.

Contestants may not prepare blend, shape or cut tips before the start of the competition.

You can work only with Crystal Nails materials (gel / acrylic powder). Floor judges will be checking your desk prior to the competition to ensure that you have not brought any other gel / acrylic material.

No nail bed extension (cover pink).

You are allowed to use an electric file.

You must provide your own UV lamp, daylight lamp, brushes, towel, liquid and other materials. If you would like to purchase any Crystal Nails gels or acrylic powders for the competition it is your responsibility to buy them prior to the event (we can not guarantee we will have the required products on stock on the day of the event).

Cuticle oil is allowed.

If you work with acrylic you are not allowed to use top shine gel or top coat. You must use buffer for the perfect finish.

You must extend the nail with the NAIL BED`S LENGTH! (Nail bed is 8mm free edge 8mm)

The smile line must be dramatic, strongly arched, shadowed. NO SALON NAILS!

The finished nails must be bended and well- proportioned to the nail bed.

You need to label all of your products and jars on your desk (except Crystal Nails product).

The thickness of the finished nail must be very thin, for example business card.
